ApplicationContext es el contenedor IoC de Spring: lee la configuración, crea instancias de beans, inyecta dependencias y gestiona su ciclo de vida. BeanFactory es su padre de nivel inferior; ApplicationContext agrega AOP, publicación de eventos, i18n y carga de recursos. En la práctica siempre usas ApplicationContext.
