Spring Data JPA se encuentra encima de JPA (Java Persistence API), que implementa Hibernate. La pila tiene tres capas: DataSource (grupo de conexiones JDBC), EntityManagerFactory (fábrica de sesiones de Hibernate) y EntityManager (la unidad de trabajo que rastrea las entidades). Spring Boot configura automáticamente los tres desde application.properties.
