Un proceso es una instancia de programa en ejecución. Tiene un PID (ID de proceso), PPID principal, propietario, CPU y memoria. ps muestra una instantánea; top y htop se actualizan de forma interactiva para que puedas detectar tareas fuera de control. /proc/PID expone datos del kernel en vivo sobre cada proceso.
