Si después de mover todos los términos hacia un lado se obtiene una ecuación polinómicaP(x)=0P(x)=0, se llama ecuación polinómica (racional integral). En el noveno grado importan dos casos típicos: 1) bicuadráticoax4+bx2+c=0ax^4+bx^2+c=0(sustituciónt=x2t=x^2), 2) ecuaciones resueltas por factorización y la reglauv=0⇒u=0 or v=0uv=0\Rightarrow u=0\ \text{or}\ v=0.
