Postpositions and their functions

Postpositions (คำหลัง) play a central role in Thai for expressing spatial, temporal, causal, and other relations between participants in a situation. Unlike most European languages, where similar functions are often handled by prepositions, Thai places these function words after the noun or quasi-nominal phrase.
