Negating adjectives

Negating adjectives in Thai is a systematic, grammatically regular pattern. It is realized mainly by the particle ไม่ (/mâi/), placed before the adjective to deny its qualitative meaning. Unlike languages with agglutinative negation or major sentence restructuring, Thai adjective negation is syntactically simple but requires attention to intonation, context, and particles.
