Une fonction exponentielle a la forme y=axy=a^x, où aa est un nombre fixe positif, a1a\neq1, et xx est la variable indépendante (l'exposant). A l'école, une base positivea>0a>0 correspond à la signification de axa^x pour tout vrai xx : pour x=nZx=n\in\mathbb{Z} vous récupérez des puissances entières ; pour fractionnaire xx — racines et pouvoirs des sections précédentes. Domaine : D(y)=RD(y)=\mathbb{R}. Plage : E(y)=(0;+)E(y)=(0;+\infty) — une exponentielle n'atteint jamais zéro et ne prend jamais de valeurs négatives. Point obligatoire : (0;1)(0;1), depuis a0=1a^0=1 pour a>0a>0.
