Domaine : x>0x>0. Plage : tout réel yy. Il augmente si a>1a>1, diminue si 0<a<10<a<1 ; le point (1;0)(1;0) se trouve toujours sur le graphique. Asymptote verticale x=0x=0 (la succursale va à −∞-\infty ou +∞+\infty selon aa comme x→0+x\to0^+). Avec y=axy=a^x c'est la fonction inverse : symétrie environ y=xy=x.
En cas de problème avec un paramètre, monotonie de log⁡a\log_a donne la direction des inégalités
