Time adverbs answer “when?”, “how long?”, “how often?”; place adverbs answer “where?”, “where to?”, “where from?”. In Thai, as in other analytic languages, time and place are often expressed by separate words and fixed phrases, not verb inflection. Their position is more flexible than manner adverbs, but stable norms exist.
