File Paths and Navigation (cd, pwd)

Paths identify files and directories. An absolute path starts at / (for example /home/alice/docs). A relative path starts from the current working directory (for example ./config or ../logs). The shell command cd changes your current directory; pwd prints where you are.

ℹ️Special entries: . means current directory, .. means parent directory, ~ expands to your home directory (or ~user for another user). A lone cd or cd ~ returns to your home.
