Network Configuration (ip, ifconfig)

Modern Linux uses the ip utility from iproute2 for interfaces, addresses, and routing. Legacy ifconfig still appears in old docs but may hide information on systems with many addresses. NetworkManager (nmcli, nmtui) manages profiles on desktops; servers often use static config in /etc/netplan, /etc/network/interfaces, or systemd-networkd.
