Multiplying a number by 2

To multiply a number by 2 means to take that number twice — in other words, to double it. For example, 2×2=42\times 2=4, 3×2=63\times 2=6, 4×2=84\times 2=8. The larger the number, the larger the result. The times table for 2 is easy to remember: every answer is an even number.
Multiply by 2 — double the number
Examples: 2×2=42\times 2=4, 5×2=105\times 2=10, 8×2=168\times 2=16
The result is always even
