To multiply a number by 3 means to take that number three times as an addend. For example, 2×3=6, 3×3=9, 4×3=12. The times table for 3 also has clear patterns: every product is a multiple of 3.
Multiply by 3 — use the number three times as the same addend
Examples: 3×2=6, 5×3=15, 8×3=24
The result is always divisible by 3
