Hundred. Places: units, tens, hundreds

A hundred is 10 tens or 100 ones. When we count to 1000 we use three places: ones, tens, and hundreds. For example, 243243 means 2×100+4×10+32\times 100+4\times 10+3. Each digit tells how many hundreds, tens, and ones are in the number.
10 ones = 1 ten
10 tens = 1 hundred
