To multiply a multi-digit number by a one-digit number, use the same column idea as before — only the top number may be longer. Start with the ones digit of the top number: multiply it by the one-digit factor, write the ones digit of that product in the ones column, and carry any tens to the next column. Move left digit by digit, each time adding the carry.
You can also think of it as repeated addition: below you first see 11×8 (eleven eights) visually. Later we use 324×6: too many cells for the screen, but the idea matches column multiplication on paper.

Carry when a partial product is 10 or more
Multi-digit × one-digit (e.g. 324×6): add the larger number that many times; a short case 11×8 is eight elevens — like the times table.
