Segment. Length of the segment. Triangle

A segment is part of a line bounded by two points (endpoints). Those points belong to the segment; so does every point between them. The length of a segment is the number that tells how many times a chosen unit of length (centimeter, decimeter, meter…) fits along the segment. Congruent segments have equal lengths. A triangle is a figure formed by three segments (sides) joining three points (vertices) that are not collinear. You can compare side lengths and classify the triangle (equilateral, isosceles, scalene) — geometry tied to numbers you already know.
