A proper fraction has numerator smaller than the denominator: ba with a<b. Such a fraction is less than 1.
An improper fraction has numerator greater than or equal to the denominator: a≥b. Such a fraction is not less than 1.
Examples:
- 73 — proper;
- 88 — improper (equals 1);
- 811 — improper (greater than 1).
