Dividing decimals by natural numbers

When dividing a decimal by a whole number you can rely on familiar integer division. Idea: look at the number without the point for a moment, divide by the whole number, then put the point back in the quotient so the decimal meaning of the number is preserved. For example: 8.4÷48.4\div 4. Think: 84÷4=2184\div 4=21, so 8.4÷4=2.18.4\div 4=2.1. If the fractional part does not divide “nicely”, you can continue digits after the point in the quotient by adding zeros as needed.
Divide like familiar integers
The point in the quotient must preserve the size of the number
If needed, continue division in the fractional part
