Arithmetic mean

The arithmetic mean of several numbers is the number you get by: 1) adding all the values; 2) dividing the sum by how many values there are. Formula: xˉ=x1+x2++xnn\bar{x}=\frac{x_1+x_2+\dots+x_n}{n}. Meaning: a “level” value you could replace the set with without changing the total sum.
First the sum, then divide by the count
The mean need not be one of the original numbers
Check: mean × count = original sum
