Reducing fractions to a common denominator

To compare, add, or subtract fractions with different denominators, first rewrite them with a common denominator. Often you use the least common denominator — it equals the LCM of the two denominators.
LCM of the denominators = least common denominator
Each fraction is scaled by a multiplier to reach that denominator
