Two numbers are reciprocals (multiplicative inverses) if their product is 1. For a fraction ba (a=0, b=0) the reciprocal is ab (in simplest form). The reciprocal of a whole number n is n1.
The product of reciprocals is always 1
Reciprocal of ba is ab
Reciprocals are used in dividing fractions: division becomes multiplication by the reciprocal
Examples: reciprocal of a fraction
