Direct proportionality: as one quantity grows, the other grows by the same factor (y=k⋅x with constant k).
Inverse proportionality: the product of the two quantities stays constant (x⋅y=k): if you increase one, the other decreases so the product stays the same.
Direct: the same multiplier k from x to y
Inverse: constant product x⋅y
