Direct and inverse proportional relationships

Direct proportionality: as one quantity grows, the other grows by the same factor (y=kxy=k\cdot x with constant kk). Inverse proportionality: the product of the two quantities stays constant (xy=kx\cdot y=k): if you increase one, the other decreases so the product stays the same.
Direct: the same multiplier kk from xx to yy
Inverse: constant product xyx\cdot y
From a table you can check the type of relationship and find a missing value
