Coordinate line. Points on a line

A number line is a straight line with a chosen origin (point 00), a positive direction, and a unit length. Every number has its coordinate — the position of the corresponding point on the line. Opposite numbers are the same distance from 00 but on different sides of the origin. The absolute value is the distance from 00 (it is never negative).
