The graph of a function is the set of points (x,y) that satisfy the function’s formula. Reading a graph means finding y from a given x, and comparing values of the function at different points.

The graph lets you see where the function is greater or smaller
Read the value of y at the marked x.
y = 1.5x + -1
From the graph: at x = 2, y = 2.
