Direct proportionality y = kx

Direct proportionality is given by y=kxy=kx (that is, b=0b=0). Its graph is a straight line through the origin (0,0)(0,0). The coefficient kk shows how quickly yy grows or decreases as xx changes.
Direct proportion: y=kxy=kx
The graph always passes through (0,0)(0,0)
The sign of k tells whether the line rises or falls
Case b=0b=0: the line goes through the origin.
y = 2x + 0
-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1012345678-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-112345678xy
From the graph: at x = 3, y = 6.
