Factoring a polynomial using the common factor method

If every term of a polynomial shares a common factor, you can factor it out in front of the parentheses. This is the inverse of expanding parentheses.
Look for a common numerical and variable factor
Divide each term by the common factor
Check by expanding
Factor out the common factor.
Common factor method
6x2+9x6x^2+9x
=3x(2x+3)=3x(2x+3)
