Squared sum and squared difference

Key formulas: (a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2(a+b)^2=a^2+2ab+b^2, (ab)2=a22ab+b2(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2. Do not forget the middle term ±2ab\pm2ab.
Square of the first + double product + square of the second
For a square of a difference, the middle term has a minus sign
The formulas work in both directions
Expand using the square-of-a-sum or square-of-a-difference formulas.
Square of sum
(x+5)2(x+5)^2
=x2+10x+25=x^2+10x+25
