Factoring means applying the formula backwards:
a2+2ab+b2=(a+b)2,
a2−2ab+b2=(a−b)2.
First recognize the structure of the trinomial
Check that the outer terms are perfect squares
The middle term must be twice the product
Recognize the pattern and factor the expression.
Square of sum
x2+10x+25
=(x+5)2
