Power function y = x³

Definition and difference from a parabola
The power function f(x)=x3f(x)=x^3 sends each xx to "xx cubed". It is often written simply as y=x3y=x^3. Unlike a quadratic, the graph is not symmetric about a vertical line. Instead there is central symmetry: rotate the plane by 180180^\circ about (0;0)(0;0) and the curve maps to itself.
(x)3=x3(-x)^3=-x^3 — the function is odd
A parabola has degree 2; exponent 3 changes the "character" of the curve
