What it means to solve a system
A system of linear inequalities in one variable is several conditions that must hold at the same time. A solution is every number x that satisfies each inequality in the system.
On the solution sets of the first and second inequalities, the solution of the system is their intersection. On the number line this is easy to see: you need the region that lies in both shaded bands; in the interactive it is highlighted more brightly between them.
First simplify each inequality to the form "x … k" with <, ≤, >, ≥
Then overlay the answers: the overlap is the solution of the system
