The simplest trigonometric equations (sin x = a, cos x = a)

How to describe solution sets
Equations sinx=a\sin x=a and cosx=a\cos x=a are easy to read on the unit circle: intersect with the horizontal line y=ay=a (sine) or the vertical x=ax=a (cosine). If a>1|a|>1, there are no solutions. If a1|a|\leq1, use arcsin\arcsin and arccos\arccos, then add periods.
The period of sin\sin and cos\cos is 2π2\pi
