How to describe solution sets
Equations sin⁡x=a\sin x=a and cos⁡x=a\cos x=a are easy to read on the unit circle: intersect with the horizontal line y=ay=a (sine) or the vertical x=ax=a (cosine). If ∣a∣>1|a|>1, there are no solutions. If ∣a∣≤1|a|\leq1, use arcsin⁡\arcsin and arccos⁡\arccos, then add periods.
The period of sin⁡\sin and cos⁡\cos is 2π2\pi
