Three ways to describe randomness
In grade 9 three ideas sit together: relative frequency (the share of successes in a run of trials), classical probability P=m/n for equally likely outcomes, and geometric probability (ratios of lengths, areas, or volumes).
A handy scale for how likely an event is: from 0 (practically impossible) to 1 (certain).
