Размах (интуитивно «ширина» ряда): R=max⁡ixi−min⁡ixi.R=\max_i x_i-\min_i x_i. Чувствителен к выбросам: одно экстремальное значение сильно растягивает RR. Параллельно смотрят на медиану и ярус разброса между квартилями (глубже — в курсах по статистике).
