Геометрическая прогрессия — последовательность, где каждый следующий член получается умножением на одно и то же число q≠0q\neq 0 (знаменатель прогрессии). Рекуррентно: bn+1=bn⋅qb_{n+1}=b_n\cdot q, b1≠0b_1\neq 0. При ∣q∣>1|q|>1 модули членов часто растут, при 0<∣q∣<10<|q|<1 — убывают к нулю. Знак чередуется, если q<0q<0.
Отношение соседних членов постоянно: bn+1bn=q\dfrac{b_{n+1}}{b_n}=q (где знаменатель не обнуляется)
