Where to start with a nonlinear system
For a nonlinear system, first look for a form where you can:
• express one variable in terms of the other (substitution),
• or add/subtract equations after rewriting to eliminate a variable.
Often the system reduces to a quadratic; then recover the second variable from each value you find.
