Binding energy of atomic nuclei. Mass defect

Lesson 3: isotopes. The nucleus mass is less than the sum of free proton and neutron masses → mass defect Δm\Delta m. By E=Δmc2E = \Delta m \cdot c^2 (Einstein) this 'missing' mass is the binding energy.
