Elliptical constructions

Elliptical constructions in Thai are a characteristic feature of syntax, closely tied to context, pragmatics, and the topic of an utterance. Ellipsis (omitting sentence components while preserving meaning) is widely acceptable in Thai, especially in spoken speech: a sentence can be grammatically complete even when subject, predicate, object, or pronoun is absent.
